This is a story of the feeling of risk, tension, and excitement we experience as children while playing games. As we grow older, these feelings shift to other aspects of life - though the stakes change, the intensity of emotions remains similar because we learn to cope with increasingly greater challenges.
A moment of complete carefree joy. Yet, met with full focus. All or nothing - when the tiny ball suddenly soars higher than expected. The biggest stakes imaginable.
Today, I find that same feeling in much more serious challenges - the kind where you can truly lose something. But back then, wouldn’t I have lost something just as important?
A dropped pinball could feel like the entire world. With time, we learn to give the pinball new names. We say: my family, my work, my home, myself.
