(6) Tasting Courage
(6) Tasting Courage
This is a story about taming fear by allowing yourself to fully experience it.
I savor this moment, as if I’ve always known that this is what fear tastes like once it’s been tamed. I sink my teeth into the warm waffle, and caramel spills over my tongue, thick and sweet. The flavor wraps around me like a soft embrace.
Each bite is a step forward, proof that fear can be made familiar - that it can even become something to lean into. Slowly, I learn that uncertainty can melt away, just like caramel on my tongue. I taste what waits on the other side of fear.
And as I take another bite, I realize - I am tasting courage.
